The purpose of this 20 hour (2.5 days) course is to provide new investigators, first responders, law enforcement officers, wildland firefighters, and fire department company officers a basic understanding of origin and cause determination. It is also a great refresher for the seasoned fire investigator. This course will provide the tools to understand the key roles played in fire scene examination and preserving and protecting the area of origin.
Fire Dynamics and Use of Damage in Fire Investigation

Participants will aquire a working knowledge of fire science and be able to apply this knowledge to assess possible ignition mechanisms, burn patterns, and analyze fire spread (see flyer for more details).
